50+ Subscribers!

Hey everybody! I want to thank everyone who is supporting CyberphileTV, the YouTube channel. We’ve hit over 50 (now 60!) subscribers, and I really appreciate you all taking some time to watch my videos.

Other than obviously playing Salt and Sanctuary for video purposes, I’ve been playing Persona 5. Seeing as I’m a huge Persona fan, I’d love to have more time to play it, but time has been tight, between school, work, and preparing/recording/editing of the Salt and Sanctuary videos. That said, I jut finished the second dungeon, and I’m loving everything about it so far: the characters, the presentation, the gameplay changes from 4… I’m really impressed.

At any rate, thank you for supporting Cyberphile and I hope you all enjoy what’s to come!

New Let’s Play Series: Duke Nukem 3D — March 22, 2017

New Let’s Play Series: Duke Nukem 3D

Hey, everybody. Firstly, an announcement: Wordpress has notified me that I have 100 likes on Cyberphile posts on WordPress! Thank you everyone for your support!

In other news, Episode 1 of my new Let’s Play series: Duke Nukem 3D World Tour – 20th Anniversary is now uploaded! I hope you enjoy this new series and new intro to CyberphileTV’s videos – I’ve been working quite hard on it! This is a mostly blind playthrough, as in the past, I’ve only played through 2 and a half levels of Duke 3D. This time we’re going all out! I have a ton more ideas for videos and stuff, just no real time to act on it all, due to the lack of time between school, work, and schoolwork. Bear with me though, and the cream will rise to the top!

Check it Out! – Samurai Champloo — March 20, 2017

Check it Out! – Samurai Champloo

Managed to put out another Check it Out! video, this time for Samurai Champloo… So, uh, check it out! I’m pretty happy with the editing and the thumbnail, and I hope everyone else likes this one too. I’m currently caught up in a copyright dispute with BandaiChannel for this video so no views go toward any revenue or anything for me, at least for now, but that’s fine. Hopefully you enjoy all the same.

Long Time no See! — March 17, 2017

Long Time no See!

Hey, how’s it going? It’s been a decent while since I’ve last posted here, and that’s just due to the nature of college. Last two weeks have been pretty heavy on schoolwork, especially due to mid terms, and it probably doesn’t help that the little free time I have had I’ve been spending on Animal Crossing: New Leaf: an absolute life-eater, for sure. That said, I’m working on a bunch of new, quality content for CyberphileTV (the YouTube channel), starting with my coverage of PAX East, which I uploaded a little earlier than usual today. I’m going to be working on a video review of Samurai Champloo as well as talking a bit about one of my favorite bands and the story behind their music: The Protomen. Make sure you subscribe to the YouTube channel for all that juicy content. Without further ado: Here’s Cyberphile at PAX East 2017!

What’cha Playin’ 1/31/17 – Bloodborne — January 31, 2017

What’cha Playin’ 1/31/17 – Bloodborne

I totally forgot to upload this post yesterday. I had it all written and ready to go by the time my next episode of my Bloodborne Let’s Play came out… And I completely forgot. Anyway…

This weekend I got to go home for the first time since the start of the semester for some much appreciated R&R. I got to spend some time with friends, family, and was able to record a bunch of episodes in my Let’s Play Bloodborne series. In fact, a new episode is up right now! Every Monday and Wednesday is a Let’s Play upload, and Friday could be any video, though it could certainly just be another episode of said Let’s Play. At any rate, here’s the next episode of Let’s Play Bloodborne!

What’cha Playin’? 1/25/17 – The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages — January 25, 2017

What’cha Playin’? 1/25/17 – The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

Yesterday I started playing The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, and I have to say… I’m liking it so far! I remember playing Oracle of Seasons a lot as a kid, so I have a slight nostalgic connection to it.

This time around, Link finds himself in the land of Labrynna where he rescues Zelda’s nurse, Impa, from a group of Moblins. She states that she’s looking for the Oracle of Ages, Nayru (like Nayru of the Triforce?), who is in a nearby clearing. Link moves aside the Triforce block that only those blessed by the Triforce can do before discovering that Impa had been possessed by the evil Veran, Sorceress of Shadows who now jumps out of Impa’s body and possesses Nayru’s. Veran then takes off and start wreaking havoc through time (get it, the ages?) using Nayru’s power, so it’s up to Link to do his thing and stop her.

I’m not too terribly far, but Oracle of Ages seems kind of like a 2D Ocarina of Time. It plays very similarly to Link’s Awakening (but with a wider field of view, which is very nice), but the main mechanic is the ability to jump back and forth between the past and the present (sound familiar?) using the song from the Harp of Ages. Additionally, they added a bit of RNG to the game with seeds and Rings, which can be found randomly inside nuts grown from seeds, which you’ll plant in the past and collect in the present. These Rings give you extra abilities, and in my opinion, it’s a neat and fresh mechanic to the Zelda formula. I haven’t found any really great rings yet, but it’s a neat idea, and I remember farming them a lot in Seasons as a kid, trying to collect ’em all.

Another neat idea as far as Ages and Seasons go, is that you can play one, then transfer your data over with a password and play the second game as a sequel! Very cool idea on paper, but we’ll see how it goes in practice.

As a side note, I’m changing up Cyberphile’s YouTube channel to upload on Fridays instead of Sundays, that way you have a whole weekend to watch! Not only that, but I have a tendency to skip posting on Fridays because they tend to be pretty busy for me. If I can get caught up on editing my Let’s Play videos, I’ll post more than once a week, but for now, just expect videos every Friday.

What’cha Doin’? 12/30/16 — December 30, 2016

What’cha Doin’? 12/30/16

I actually haven’t played any games or had a chance to watch any anime yesterday. I’ve just been working (like, where I work) and working on the next video for Cyberphile’s YouTube Channel, writing and rewriting the script, rerecording the audio, coming up with new ideas… I’m hoping to have a high quality video all ready and uploaded on Sunday. Guess I’ll see you next year!

Cyberphile: Now on Twitch and YouTube! — December 19, 2016

Cyberphile: Now on Twitch and YouTube!

Over the weekend, I did a lot of work on logos, artwork, and even an intro video for YouTube videos, which you’ll be able to see soon. Unfortunately, YouTube has changed their URL standards, so right now, Cyberphile has some generic URL. Make sure you subscribe so you can get to the content easily, or, alternatively, links to other Cyberphile content is always available from the About page here on the WordPress site. If I’m able to get 100 subscribers, I’ll be able to change the URL. I’m aiming to get 1 video up a week, once I get into the swing of things.

I’m also introducing CyberphileTV, Cyberphile’s Twitch account. You can expect streams of things, assuming I have the time, privacy, and my equipment on hand. If all goes well, the “What’cha Playin’?” posts will pretty much be able to be watched in real time, or at least archived. If I’m recording in preparation for a YouTube video, you can expect no microphone input, but at other times, there certainly will be. You can expect gaming with friends, or just whatever on Twitch. I don’t have a streaming schedule, so make sure you follow on Twitch to get notified when streaming is going down.

Finally, here are the links, so you don’t have to navigate to the About page if you don’t want to:
