What’cha Doin’? – 1/9/17

If you haven’t yet seen it, check out my You Should be Playing Rocket League video on Cyberphile’s YouTube channel. I’m pretty happy with the final product.

I’ve been playing some more Majora’s Mask 3D and have done everything I feel like doing before entering the Great Bay temple. Now I just gotta wait for my friend to catch up. Hopefully we can bang it out in the next few nights before I go back up to college for work and school.

Moving right along, I’ve gotta get some recording done for my next video, so I’m throwing around a few ideas and may end up with some Let’s Play videos. My current ideas are either a classic DOOM You Should be Playing video, or doing a Let’s Play series of Gravity Rush Remastered, as Gravity Rush 2’s release date is rapidly approaching. I have a few other ideas too, but I don’t want to make any promises.

Make sure you keep up with Cyberphile’s Twitch and Twitter to see when streaming happens, as whatever I stream tends to be what the next video is on. Stay tuned!

What’cha Doin’? 1/6/17

With audio all recorded and edited, my Rocket League video is coming along swimmingly. I started editing the video, but it’ll be a bit until it’s done. Check the channel on Sunday for the video! Hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze in some other games in the meantime.

Speaking of which, Gravity Rush 2’s release is on the horizon, and with Gravity Rush on my list of best games ever, I figured it was time to replay it, since I haven’t played it since I first got my Vita, so I bought the Gravity Rush Remaster. I plan to stream it as I play it, so stay tuned to Facebook, Twitch, and Twitter for updates on when streaming is happening.

What’cha Doin’? 1/5/17

Working on my next video. I hope you enjoy my Rocket League video, comes out on Sunday, assuming I can finish all of the editing and stuff. I don’t want to let anyone down, but I also want to release a high-quality video. That’s pretty much all I’m doing, besides working. No time for much of anything else.

I’ve decided my next video will be on Rocket League, and as such, I’ve been playing that in an effort to get some decent footage with which to edit. Sadly, it’s been a decent amount of time since I played Rocket League, and I feel like that’s fairly obvious in my gameplay… Ah well.

Aside from that, I’ve made it through the Pirate’s Fortress in Majora’s Mask 3D. Now I just have to wait for my buddy to catch up. You can watch him catch up on Twitch!

And finally, if you have an iPhone, you should check out DJ Max Ray. To sum it up, it’s like Korean-Guitar Hero for your fingers. If you’ve ever played the DJ Max games or love music/rhythm games (like myself), you should check it out. They give you 10 songs for free (and 2 unlockable), but then you have to buy 5 song packs (with 1 unlockable) for 1.99 a piece, or go with one of the many bundle deals. Personally, I’m a sucker for music/rhythm games, and whenever I have a few uninterrupted minutes,  I play a song or two. It’s pretty high quality for a mobile game. Highly recommend.

Now, onto script writing, editing, and probably a bit more recording for my Rocket League video… Before I have to go to work, anyway. Stay tuned!

What’cha Playin’? 12/9/16

Aside from playing Gauntlet’s daily Colosseum, I just played a ton of Rocket League yesterday. I was on fire! I rose up from Challenger III Division IV up to Rising Star Division V (Solo Standard), which is the highest rank I’ve ever achieved as of yet. I was just playing really well, and when I wasn’t playing too terribly well, I was playing smart, which is also important. The new arena added to the competitive playlist is pretty cool too, I’m a big fan. It’s space themed, and shaped like a huge octagon or something. The funky bounces of the ball coming off the walls can make for some really fun play.

The semester is almost over for me, so that means I should be able to play even more games, which is good for me, and good for those of you who frequent Cyberphile. See you on the other side of the weekend!

What’cha Playin’? 12/8/16

Didn’t have too much time for games yesterday, was pretty busy with work and school, and am currently running on 4-5 hours of sleep, but I had a good streak of matches in Garou: Mark of the Wolves with some guy. I won some, he won some; I genuinely had a good time. Ggs, friend.

I’ve also been slowly rewatching Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and I’m on the last 4 episodes now. Really solid series with great characters. More on that once I finish it.

Though I didn’t get a chance to try it out, Rocket League got an update with new arena/s, so check that out if it interests you.

What’cha Playin’? 12/7/16

No actual news today, just working on FFXV, and when I’m not, I’m playing a bit of Garou, Rocket League, and Gauntlet. I made some decent story progress in FFXV, as I’ve knocked out a good deal of the side quests.

I do, however, have some big news on the horizon, hopefully, as long as everything works itself out. Stay tuned for that.

What’cha Playin’? 9/15/16

Slow day, as I’ve been busy with school work and work-work. I squeezed in a few rounds of Rocket League and a teensy bit of Folklore.

My copy of the Bioshock Collection came in the mail yesterday, and to my surprise, it’s the only PS4 game I’ve ever seen to have two disks; one for Bioshock and Bioshock 2, and the other one for Infinite. I played the opening little bit of Bioshock, and I desperately want to play more, but I know that if I do, I’ll never finish Folklore, and I really do want to. One thing at a time.

Not much news today, I’ve been busy. Played a little bit of Rocket League, but that’s all I had time for. Looking forward to playing the Bioshock Collection once I have some time.

What’cha Playin’? 9/13/16 Folklore — September 13, 2016

What’cha Playin’? 9/13/16 Folklore

After powering through the first three Silent Hills, 1 on PS3 as a PS Classic, and 2 and 3 on PC, I’m taking a short break to play Folklore, an old (well, 2007) PlayStation 3 game. It’s a really neat action RPG that’s part Pokemon, part Alice in Wonderland, and part murder mystery. There is a mysterious murder in the small island town of Doolin that two characters are called to, and you can choose to play as either. You can play as Ellen, the girl with the missing past that supposedly lies in Doolin, or Keats, the skeptical writer of a paranormal magazine. The game is broken into chapters, and you can either play through all of the chapters as one character or alternating between characters like I am. You go into different worlds and fight different fairy tale-esque creatures, called Folks, eventually capturing their “Ids” and using them to fight for you. For example you may capture a folk with a combo attack and another with a ranged attack so you can mix up which to use when, as you can map Folks to the four face buttons. Some Folks are weak to others, and exploiting some weaknesses may be the only way to capture or damage some Folks. The world is beautiful and the game is really cool, so you can expect a bigger review of it once I do finish it. The only thing that stinks is that this game was released before Trophy support was mainstream on Sony consoles. That’s just me though, I like getting trophies.

The Bioshock Collection comes out today. Unfortunately, Amazon didn’t want me to have it on release day, so I’ll be getting it tomorrow. That said, I’m looking forward to playing through 1 again and trying 2 once I get through that.

Finally, if you haven’t tried the new mode in Rocket League, you absolutely have to. In Rumble mode, they give you all sorts of powerups and abilities and it makes for some crazy play, with grappling hooks and punching gloves and tornadoes… It’s hectic but insanely fun. Try it for yourself! As always, Rocket League updates are free!
