Managed to put out another Check it Out! video, this time for Samurai Champloo… So, uh, check it out! I’m pretty happy with the editing and the thumbnail, and I hope everyone else likes this one too. I’m currently caught up in a copyright dispute with BandaiChannel for this video so no views go toward any revenue or anything for me, at least for now, but that’s fine. Hopefully you enjoy all the same.
Hey, how’s it going? My life is a never-ending torrent of editing Let’s Play episodes. That said, it’s not a bad thing, as I’m well ahead of my upload schedule and I’m learning and improving with each episode, both in editing, and in commentary. So hopefully the low-energy beginning of my Bloodborne Let’s Play doesn’t scare you away!
Also, call me crazy, but I’m playing 2 files of Bloodborne right now: one for my Let’s Play, and one to play while my next episode is rendering. This gives me some time to see what’s ahead and plan my commentary accordingly, but also a chance to use weapons I haven’t touched in my previous playthroughs, like my current love, the Boom Hammer. It’s so cool.
Lastly, this upcoming weekend, For Honor, a sword fighting game I’ve been excited for over the past few weeks, has a free open beta. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some serious playtime in on it, and maybe even get some streaming done, unlike my unsuccessful Bloodborne streaming session last weekend.
Here’s the latest episode of my Bloodborne Let’s Play; another episode goes up this afternoon!
School sucks. It eats up all my time and I don’t have time to play anything or edit the episodes of Let’s Play Bloodborne, which, again, sucks. That said, I’ve reached 10 subscribers on my Youtube channel! Hurray! It’s all about the little victories, haha. I hope to keep improving, and I have some ideas to improve my Let’s Plays, but it probably won’t take effect for a little while, just so you know.
I’m proud to announce Cyberphile’s first Let’s Play: Bloodborne. If I can keep up with the pace, you can expect a new (roughly 15 minute) episode every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I’d like to have three videos a week going with Monday and Wednesday being strictly Let’s Plays and Friday either being a continuation of said Let’s Play or another video altogether. So keep your eyes peeled for that!
Here’s the link to the first episode in the series. I hope you enjoy!
Mondays and Wednesdays are always brutal as far as school work goes, so I get little opportunity to actually play or do anything, usually. That said, I did get to play a little more Oracle of Ages; I made it to some island where a bunch of little jerks stole all of my stuff. I’m in the process of getting it back, but I’m hating this portion…
Next, I’ve finished editing a couple of episodes for a Let’s Play series. Expect the first episode to be posted tomorrow, and hopefully I’ll have time to record some more episodes soon. If I have enough, I’ll be able to upload Let’s Play Episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Fingers crossed!
Yesterday I started playing The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, and I have to say… I’m liking it so far! I remember playing Oracle of Seasons a lot as a kid, so I have a slight nostalgic connection to it.
This time around, Link finds himself in the land of Labrynna where he rescues Zelda’s nurse, Impa, from a group of Moblins. She states that she’s looking for the Oracle of Ages, Nayru (like Nayru of the Triforce?), who is in a nearby clearing. Link moves aside the Triforce block that only those blessed by the Triforce can do before discovering that Impa had been possessed by the evil Veran, Sorceress of Shadows who now jumps out of Impa’s body and possesses Nayru’s. Veran then takes off and start wreaking havoc through time (get it, the ages?) using Nayru’s power, so it’s up to Link to do his thing and stop her.
I’m not too terribly far, but Oracle of Ages seems kind of like a 2D Ocarina of Time. It plays very similarly to Link’s Awakening (but with a wider field of view, which is very nice), but the main mechanic is the ability to jump back and forth between the past and the present (sound familiar?) using the song from the Harp of Ages. Additionally, they added a bit of RNG to the game with seeds and Rings, which can be found randomly inside nuts grown from seeds, which you’ll plant in the past and collect in the present. These Rings give you extra abilities, and in my opinion, it’s a neat and fresh mechanic to the Zelda formula. I haven’t found any really great rings yet, but it’s a neat idea, and I remember farming them a lot in Seasons as a kid, trying to collect ’em all.
Another neat idea as far as Ages and Seasons go, is that you can play one, then transfer your data over with a password and play the second game as a sequel! Very cool idea on paper, but we’ll see how it goes in practice.
As a side note, I’m changing up Cyberphile’s YouTube channel to upload on Fridays instead of Sundays, that way you have a whole weekend to watch! Not only that, but I have a tendency to skip posting on Fridays because they tend to be pretty busy for me. If I can get caught up on editing my Let’s Play videos, I’ll post more than once a week, but for now, just expect videos every Friday.
Yesterday was extremely busy for me between work and school. As a result, I didn’t get to play or watch much of anything. I imagine today will also be pretty busy; I have quite a bit of studying to do to catch up for the lack of being able to do so yesterday. I do want to pitch my latest video on YouTube, however, it’s a sort of review on Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. Check it out if you haven’t.
I’ve also started recording some Let’s Plays last week, but I’m waiting for opportune times to post them… Plus I still need to edit some of them. More on that later.
I’ve been playing some more Majora’s Mask 3D and have done everything I feel like doing before entering the Great Bay temple. Now I just gotta wait for my friend to catch up. Hopefully we can bang it out in the next few nights before I go back up to college for work and school.
Moving right along, I’ve gotta get some recording done for my next video, so I’m throwing around a few ideas and may end up with some Let’s Play videos. My current ideas are either a classic DOOM You Should be Playing video, or doing a Let’s Play series of Gravity Rush Remastered, as Gravity Rush 2’s release date is rapidly approaching. I have a few other ideas too, but I don’t want to make any promises.
All week I’ve been working (at my job) and when I haven’t been doing that, I’ve been working on editing my new video on Cyberphile’s channel on YouTube: You Should be Playing: Garou: Mark of the Wolves. I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out, but I’d like to hear your feedback. I’m working on improving, and I’ll need to start recording for another video soon.
And speaking of Twitch, we’ve been playing Garou: Mark of the Wolves and the Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask on stream. Plus clips for my next video will be streamed there too, most likely.
I actually haven’t played any games or had a chance to watch any anime yesterday. I’ve just been working (like, where I work) and working on the next video for Cyberphile’s YouTube Channel, writing and rewriting the script, rerecording the audio, coming up with new ideas… I’m hoping to have a high quality video all ready and uploaded on Sunday. Guess I’ll see you next year!
